They appear due to an excess of melanin in certain cells of the skin (melanin is the substance that provides color to the skin). Up until several years ago the only solution for these pigmented lesions (spots) was derma-abrasion, cryo surgery, or plastic surgery, but all of these techniques carry the risk of leaving scars or white spots.

The Clínica Laser de la Piel has different state of the art lasers’ types to treat the widest range of pigmented lesions (dark spots) in an efficient way. Among them we find the following:

The ideal way to remove them is with laser therapy. We have three different types of lasers according to the skin type. Treatment is safe and fast and the results are amazing. A laser beam is applied on the lesion and absorbs the melanin removing it.

Several lasers are required to treat a wide spectrum of pigmented lesions since some only treat pigments in a superficial manner at the epidermis, and others reach deeper for dermis lesions.

The removal of these lesions with cryo surgery or chemical peeling is not advisable, because in some occasions they can leave many scars.
